I am a prolific artist living in Silver City, New Mexico. I grew up near NYC, lived in Miami, Wyoming, El Paso, and southern California. I've always had wanderlust, but am now settled in Silver City. Silver City is 100 miles from the Mexican border with a lively art scene. I'm very happy to be a part of it.
The one town that shaped me the most artistically was El Paso, Texas. My work draws from the expressiveness of Mexican art and the many colors of Mexican and American Southwest cultures. Color, color, color!
To liven up my paintings, I try to decipher and capture emotions and personalities. Unspoken narrative is very important in my paintings. The subjects in my paintings should always tell a story; either my story or the viewer's story.
In my teaching, I try to pass along my love of expression, color, and storytelling to my students. I've been teaching art to students of all ages for many years.
